Building Community Power Graphics
layout design
This was a timed, spontaneous exercise incorporated into the class, in spirit of encouraging non bias voting. My class could choose to work in groups or solo. For this first piece, the saying was developed by a small group, then we split to visually create independently. This was my first time having the experience and opportunity of working with a Letraset. I truly enjoyed it.
This piece and the following, were featured on the AIGA blog by my instructor, Amy Fidler. The external link can be found below to explore her reflections on the project as well as view other student work chosen for display.
This poster was designed to reach what would be typically considered a minority group for the demographic of the area. The purpose and desire for creating an extra poster for this project was to utilize my knowledge of the Japanese language to reach those old enough to vote.
The background text reads: "Let's vote!" The bottom text below the ballet reads "Vote today!"
